Sausage Tree Safari Camp is situated in the Olifants West Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park and sanctuary to Africa’s famous Big Five. We have over 3500ha of traversing, including 5kms along the Olifants River and you can look forward to a true safari experience of wilderness and undisturbed biodiversity. All of this plus easy accessibility as we are only 25 minutes away from our local town of Hoedspruit.

A small, intimate, luxury tented camp in the Greater Kruger National Park where the Big 5 still roam freely. The Olifants River flows all year round through the reserve with healthy populations of hippo and crocodile, as well as a huge diversity of bird species including the elusive Pels Fishing Owl.

Our luxury, African-styled Safari tents are comfortably furnished with bathrooms en-suite, featuring a freestanding bath and an outside shower on a raised base for maximizing your views of the bush and the mountains. Air conditioning, fan, and tea and coffee facilities make it a definitive ‘glamping’ experience with the advantage that staying in a tented camp has, bringing the sounds of nature so much closer to you.

Sausage Tree Safari Camp is a sustainability beacon. Solar-powered, we minimize our Olifants West Reserve impact. We employ local staff, procure nearby, and clear alien plants while nurturing indigenous flora.

We're educators, sharing local knowledge and culture. We support Rhino Revolution, Rocking 4 Rhinos, and the Black Mamba Anti-Poaching Unit, safeguarding rhinos. Every guest reservation results in a R50 donation to the Daktari Bush School and Wildlife Orphanage that does such good work incentivising pupils from underfunded local community schools. We also promote tours to the Nourish Village self sustainability project.

Chacma Bush Camp, enviably located deep within the heart of the lesser-known Maseke Balule Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger, offers the perfect big five safari experience in 8000 hectares of undulating landscapes dotted with rocky outcrops. This family-friendly camp sleeps a total of 10 people, and thus offers an authentic and intimate safari experience close to the Olifants River. Deep caves on the traverse with flecks of mica make for a unique geology and game drives traverse over these diverse landscapes. 

The camp’s perimeter is hugged by Mopane woodlands which are a major draw-card for a wealth of wildlife. Elephants, bushbuck, kudu and plains game are commonly spotted in these woodlands, and can be viewed from the comfort of the deck area surrounding the sparkling swimming pool. There's a natural waterlogged area in front of camp which provides wildlife with the much needed replenishment needed during the heat of the day. 

Evening times are spent swapping stories around the roaring campfire in the boma area (traditional barbecue facility), and dinners are spent indulging in traditional cuisine in the rustic lapa (dining area). 

Enjoy daily game drives in this 8000 hectare reserve, and special excursions such as sundowners, bush breakfasts at the river and star gazing can be arranged.

Langa Langa Safari Lodge offers a fully immersive safari experience located in the heart of Africa’s Big Five territory. The lodge is set between the Sabi Sand game reserve & Kruger National Park in the southern area of the reserve. The camp has seven luxury tented air-conditioned chalets and offers safari activities in Southern Kruger National Park. 

From early morning game drives to guided bush walks, every activity is designed to give visitors close-up, real-time exposure to Africa’s most iconic wildlife. The lodge also provides excellent viewing opportunities from the property itself, with waterholes nearby that attract animals throughout the day. Southern Kruger is known for incredible wildlife sightings as it has many water sources including the Sabie & the Sand rivers.

Accommodation at Langa Langa includes dinner & breakfast or full board with drinks included too. Guests can enjoy their afternoons around the swimming pool or relax in the main lounge while dinners are served in the boma.

Ranger Camp offers guests’ game drives in new open game viewing vehicles in the early morning and late afternoon. Late afternoon and evening drives include sunset drinks, with views of the breath-taking Yellowwood Gorge where the road twists down the escarpment between cliffs, waterfalls and forests. Night safaris are also available on request.

Larger game frequently sighted in the reserve includes elephant, rhino, lion and hippo.In between meals and drives, use your photography skills to watch and capture through your lens the game and birdlife while relaxing by the pool or during a guided walking safari through the deep bush, accompanied by an experienced, armed ranger; it can be hot work, but it's very exciting - seeing the animals from a vehicle just doesn't seem to compare.
