Best Time to See Baby Animals in Kruger National Park & Sabi Sands Safari
Welcome to the wild side of parenthood!
If you’ve ever dreamed of witnessing the miracle of life in the African bush, then pack your binoculars and sense of wonder—because the Kruger National Park and Sabi Sands Game Reserve are calling. These legendary destinations offer more than just Big 5 sightings and world-class game drives—they’re also the ultimate stage for baby animal season.
Picture tiny warthogs trotting after their moms, fluffy impala fawns learning to leap, and curious lion cubs playing hide and seek in the grass. It's the safari version of a baby shower… only with more dust and tusks!
When to Go: Timing is Everything
(Especially When You're Expecting)
The best time to visit Kruger and Sabi Sands for baby animal sightings is between November - March, during the region’s lush, green summer. This “birthing season” aligns with the rains, when food is plentiful and the bush is at its most vibrant. It’s the perfect time for moms across the savannah to give birth and for you to witness the tiniest (and often clumsiest) members of the animal kingdom taking their first wobbly steps. Talk about a once-in-a-wild-time experience!
